Supporting The Causes That Matter

Salem Five is proud of its commitment to supporting nonprofits throughout the region. New this year, Salem Five has hosted two educational events to help nonprofit organizations navigate challenging issues and environments. The first event held in May featured an expert panel of nonprofit leaders including: Stratton Lloyd, President and CEO of the Essex County Community Foundation; Jim Klocke, CEO of the MA Council of Nonprofits; Andrew McKenzie-DeFranza, Executive Director of Harborlight Homes and Carl Howell, CEO of Community Teamwork. The session was moderated by State Representative Hannah Bowen. Due to the success of this event, a recent event was held at the Greater Boston Stage Company and featured nonprofit every.org CEO, Allison Fine – tapping into the AI landscape and how nonprofits can still remain human-centered while embracing this new technology. See press release here. We anticipate continuing to offer valuable educational topics and networking opportunities to our nonprofit partners in 2027.

In addition, the Salem Five Charitable Foundation continues to provide grants to hundreds of nonprofits each year – and this year is no different. Focusing on the following areas of giving: Economic Self-Sufficiency, Food Insecurity and Human Services, the Charitable Foundation provides needed funding in the communities we serve. Debit Card Round Up Service Terms and Conditions:

If you enroll in the Debit Card Round Up service, Salem Five will round up each debit card purchase made by you or any joint owner of your checking account to the next whole dollar. The difference will be transferred to your designated savings or money market account.

Round-up amounts from purchases posted to your checking account are aggregated each business day and transferred as a single “Round-Up Transfer” at the end of that day. Round-ups apply only to debit card or POS transactions. ATM, ACH, cash, and bill payments are excluded. If your checking account does not have sufficient available funds at the end of any business day, no round-up transfers will occur. The designated savings or money market account must be active with a positive balance.

If a debit card purchase is later disputed, canceled, or reversed, the corresponding round-up transfer will remain in your savings or money market account.

You may change or cancel your enrollment in the Debit Card Round Up service by going to salemfive.com/manageroundup, visiting a Salem Five branch location or calling us at (800) 850 5000. Salem Five may modify or terminate this service at its discretion.

To enroll and participate, you must maintain ownership of both the checking account associated with the debit card(s) and the savings or money market account used for transfers. Debit Card Round Up is available only for consumer accounts.

5 Things Investors Should Know About the Midterm Elections

As we head to the midterm elections and beyond, you may be wondering how it could affect your financial plan. Midterm elections tend to generate a lot of headlines, but very little of that coverage translates into advice you can actually use. Control of Congress affects tax law, regulation, government spending, and trade policy—all of which touch your investments, your paycheck and your long-term plans. Here are five things worth knowing about the midterms and your financial plan, based on historical patterns rather than predictions.

  1. Historical Market Averages After Midterms are Typically Favorable
  2. Expect More Volatility
  3. Consider Industry-Specific Regulatory Changes
  4. Leverage Roth Conversions if Able
  5. Maintain a Long-term Focus

At Salem Five Wealth Management & Trust , we believe your financial plan should be built for more than one election cycle. If you have questions about what the midterms could mean for your plan, connect with your Salem Five Wealth Management advisor or call (800) 557-5004.
