Joshua Bender

Josh Bender is a Vice President and Commercial Insurance Producer with Salem Five Insurance Agency, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. His career has included roles in commercial insurance, maritime insurance, special investigations, and sales, giving him a broad perspective on risk, claims, and the needs of business owners.

Josh joined Salem Five Insurance in December 2025 as Vice President Commercial Producer where he focuses on commercial insurance and building long-term relationships with business owners and Salem Five banking partners. Prior to joining Salem Five, Josh spent more than six years as a Sales Executive with Eastern Insurance Group. Before that, he served as a Maritime Insurance Broker with North Star Insurance Services and spent more than a decade as a Special Investigations Unit Field Investigator with M.A.P.F.R.E. USA. Earlier in his career, he was a Special Investigations Unit Consultant with CNA Insurance.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, which he considers his greatest priority. He has a deep love for the outdoors and enjoys anything that gets him outside, and exploring New England and beyond. His passion for the outdoors and his family are a big part of who he is and the perspective he brings to both his personal and professional life.
