Enjoys VIP Experience at Fenway Park with Dustin Pedroia
Salem, Mass., October 11, 2017 – For North Andover resident Greg Cowan, some of his fondest memories are watching the Red Sox play at Fenway Park with his father and brother, Dan. The Cowan family was at Fenway when the Red Sox beat the Yankees in the ALCS title game in 2004, and at opening day in 2008, where they watched the team receive their 2007 World Series Championship rings, but for Cowan, the Red Sox game he won’t ever forget is the last one he went to with his father before he passed away.
Cowan and his brother, Dan shared these special memories with Salem Five and WEEI as part of their Father’s Day social media contest last spring. WEEI listeners from around the region shared a memory of their father for a chance to win a VIP experience at Fenway Park with Dustin Pedroia, who has a longtime partnership with Salem Five. Cowan’s winning tweet was chosen by Salem Five and WEEI from hundreds of entries.
Cowan was at Fenway Park earlier this month to enjoy his VIP experience, which included the opportunity to announce Dustin Pedroia up at bat on the Red Sox Radio Network, a meet and greet with Pedroia during pre-game batting practice and premium seats to the game.
“Watching the Sox play at Fenway Park with my father and brother are some of my favorite family memories,” said Cowan. “Having an opportunity to meet Dustin and hang out with the WEEI team in the broadcast booth is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and is another amazing Red Sox memory that I’ll treasure.”
During Salem Five’s nine-year partnership with Pedroia, he has participated in community events and acted as spokesperson for the bank’s award-winning Gold Star Saver program, which helps to make financial literacy and responsibility accessible and fun for children.
“As a local bank with deep roots in the region, we understand how special the Red Sox are to our community,” said Jim Nelson, chief marketing officer at Salem Five. “It’s a pleasure to give Greg this special experience and an opportunity to create more amazing memories with his family at Fenway.”
