Salem Five Recognized by the Web Marketing Association
With Bank Standard of Excellence Award for Its Redesigned Website

Salem, Mass., November 15, 2018
– Building on its reputation to offer industry leading technology and digital experiences for customers, Salem Five Bank has been awarded the Bank Standard of Excellence Award by the Web Marketing Association with for the newly redesigned SalemFive.com.

The Web Marketing Association was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and recognition of the best websites. Now in its 17th year, the WebAward program is the longest running annual website award competition dedicated to naming the best websites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website development.

"The new SalemFive.com was born out of the bank's drive to consistently deliver great digital experiences for our customers." said Nicole Costa, Salem Five's Vice President of Digital Commerce. "The goal of the project was to create an intelligent, constantly evolving website that serves the growing digital needs of the market."

Salem Five's new website was officially launched in February 2018 after over a year in development with the bank's digital commerce team. It was rebuilt with Episerver software, which allows the bank to personalize each visitor's website experience as they interact with the brand.

Among the site's new features are:

  • An Education Center that offers users information and guidance on financial matters ranging from retirement, credit and debt, home ownership, cyber security, personal money management, workplace finances and small business.
  • Geolocation capabilities that automatically show users the Salem Five location nearest to them and bank experts available in their community.
  • An upgraded search feature that allows for more targeted searching and filtering.
  • Real-time social media feed integration featuring Salem Five's Facebook and Twitter accounts.

The new platform also allows the bank to add additional tools and technology to the website as they become available.

"It's great to be getting recognition for the new site," said Jim Nelson, Salem Five's Chief Marketing Officer, "with streamlined user experiences and an adaptable platform, we're in a better position to provide our customers with the tools they need to uncomplicate money."

Salem Five has long been a leader in the digital banking space. They were one of the first financial institutions in the country to offer online banking, the first Massachusetts-based bank to offer Apple Pay and one of the only Massachusetts-based banks to offer live chat to customers on its website. Previously, SalemFive.com was noted among the best in banking by The Financial Brand.
