Robert Ames Joins Salem Five as Senior Vice President, Head of Digital Delivery

Salem, Mass., May 3, 2018 – Salem Five announced today that Robert Ames has joined its team as senior vice president and head of Digital Delivery, where he will be responsible for digital customer experience and each of the bank's digital financial platforms including consumer and business online solutions, mobile banking, bill payment and online account opening.

Adding dedicated management to digital delivery is an investment in continuing to offer its customers a cutting-edge digital banking experience. Salem Five was one of the first financial institutions in the country to offer online banking, the first Massachusetts-based bank to offer Apple Pay and is one of the only Massachusetts-based banks to offer a live chat feature.

Ames, a banking industry veteran with 27 years of experience, joined Salem Five after 9 years with Santander Bank, where he most recently served as a senior vice president within its Technology and Operations division. He has held senior level management roles in retail banking at the former Sovereign and Fleet Banks.

Ames earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Assumption College and an MBA in finance from Suffolk University. He lives in West Newton with his wife and three daughters.
