Salem, Mass., December 1, 2017 – Salem Five announced today that Alexander Zapata has joined its team as a vice president and market manager. In this role, Zapata will oversee customer experience, business development and operations at the bank’s Burlington locations.
Zapata, who has more than 10 years of banking experience, previously held roles at the vice president level at Citizens Bank and Citibank. In addition to his position at Salem Five, Zapata is an adjunct professor at the Sawyer School of Business at Suffolk University where he teaches entrepreneurship.

Zapata earned a bachelor’s degree from Curry College and an MBA from Suffolk University. An active member of his local community, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Greater Boston, Girls, Inc. and Equity Lab Charter School. In 2017, Zapata was recognized as one of El Mundo Boston’s Latino 30 under 30. He lives in Boston with his wife and four children.
