Online Banking Advanced Authentication Process

To further enhance the security of your online banking, Salem Five is making some changes to your login process.

Following these updates you will notice that your picture and phrase are gone. In addition you are no longer required to formally register your computer, other related devices. The updated system includes technology to recognize if your computer, or smartphone, tablet, etc. has been used before to access online banking. We are implementing a more secure, behind-the-scene process to validate your device, user name and password.

Enhanced Security Settings - Accessing your account with a new device

We are also adding additional layers of security in the event you log in from a device that has not been used in the past – or before June 22nd anyway. Instead of challenge questions, you will be asked to validate your identity through a one-time security code via a phone call or SMS message. If a phone is not available, you will be asked to answer a series of questions to verify your identity.

There are two options for registering and verifying a new device; one is text message or phone call. The other option is by answering four multiple choice questions related to you based on historic public record data.
