The Android Pay app is available for smartphones and tablets with Android 4.4 KitKat and above. Android Pay can be used at hundreds of millions of stores nationwide.
Android Pay is easy and secure! Once you’ve added your Salem Five debit card to the Android Pay app and you’re ready to make a purchase using Android Pay, a substitute device account number and a transaction specific code are used to process payments. You still enjoy all the benefits of your Salem Five debit card, including Visa’s Zero Liability protection from unauthorized purchases.
It’s easy to add your consumer Salem Five to Android Pay. Simply download and open the Android Pay app on your eligible Android mobile device to get started.
If you already have a Salem Five debit card in your Google account, you can quickly import it into Android Pay by confirming a few details.
To add a Salem Five debit card that is not in your Google account, enter your card information manually or use your device camera when prompted to capture it automatically. Android Pay will perform a simple validation with Salem Five before the card is ready to use.
How to Use Android Pay in Participating Stores:
1. When you're ready to check out, look for the Android Pay or contactless payments symbol where you normally swipe your card.
2. When you see one of these symbols at checkout, hold your Android device in front of the secure reader to initiate your payment. The contactless reader communicates wirelessly with your phone, so all you need to do is tap, pay and you’re done!

▼ What is Android Pay?
Android Pay allows Salem Five debit card holders to use compatible Android devices to pay on-the-go at contactless merchants and within participating merchant apps wherever Visa® cards are accepted.
▼ What do I need to get started?
To use Android Pay, customers must have an NFC-enabled Android device running Android OS 4.4 (KitKat) or higher and the Android Pay app. To download the Android Pay app or to check if your device is compatible with Android Pay, visit the Google Play Store. The following devices running KitKat are not eligible for Android Pay because they lack an NFC antenna:
- Evo 4G LTE
- Nexus 7 (2012)
- Samsung Galaxy Note 3
- Samsung Galaxy S3
- Samsung Galaxy Lite
▼ How do I add Salem Five debit card?
When adding your debit card to Android Pay, you will also be adding your card to Google Payments. This allows you to use your Card to make purchases in places like the Google Play Store and online with Google. You can choose to add the card you already have added to your Google account or add new cards by manually entering your card information or taking a picture of your card. Occasionally, instant issue debit cards without embossed numbers have difficulty being read by the camera, so please enter your card number manually if you have one of these cards.
▼ What if I have difficulty adding my debit card?
If you are experiencing difficulty and unable to add your Salem Five debit card manually, please contact Salem Five support at 800.850.5000. For additional troubleshooting, visit https://www.android.com/pay/.
▼ How do I change my default card?
From the Android Pay app, touch and hold the card to be used as the default payment card and drag it up to the top of the card stack then release. This card will now serve as your default payment card.
▼ What happens when I receive a renewed/replacement card?
When your Salem Five debit card enrolled in Android Pay expires, Salem Five will automatically update your card information within Android Pay for you. For any cards replaced due to loss, theft or fraud, you will need to add the card to Android Pay as if it were new – either using the device camera or by manually adding the card information. First, delete your old Salem Five card from Android Pay.
▼ Are my payments safe with Android Pay?
With Android Pay, your personal account and card data is never stored on the physical device. When you make a purchase, the device account number along with a dynamic, transaction-specific security code is used to process your payment. This means that your actual debit card number is never shared with merchants or transmitted with the payment.
▼ Am I able to opt out of Android Pay at any time?
Adding your debit card to Android Pay is your choice; you can add and remove cards whenever you need to. To remove your card from Android Pay, simply select the card in the Android Pay app and tap the “Delete Card” option on the detail page. After deleting, you can re-add this card to Android Pay at any time.
▼ Which merchants are participating?
You can use Android Pay to make payments with your compatible Android device wherever Visa contactless payments are accepted. Just look for the contactless and/or Android Pay symbol at checkout. You can also use Android Pay in participating merchant apps with supported devices. Look for the “Buy with Android Pay” button at checkout within the apps. For a list of where you can pay with Android Pay, visit android.com/pay.
▼ What happens if I replace, update, or lose my Android device?
If you believe your device or Android Pay Card information has been lost, stolen or compromised in any way, call the number on the back of your debit card.
You can also go to Android Device Manager to help you find, lock and erase your device.
▼ Is Android Pay free?
Yes. Be aware that message and data rates may apply, depending on your data plan.
▼ Can I add my Salem Five debit card to Android Pay on multiple devices?
Yes. For each of your devices, you will need to add your Salem Five debit card by visiting the Android Pay app.
▼ What if I need to return an item I purchased using Android Pay?
The return process will vary by merchant. You may need to present a receipt from the merchant to return the item. To complete the return, hold your Android Pay device over the contactless payment terminal and wait for a vibration to confirm the return has been processed. You must use the same Android Pay enabled device you used to purchase the item to process the return.
Please remember to keep the original receipt you received from the merchant at the time of purchase as the transaction details listed in Samsung Pay are not an official receipt
