E-Bills FAQs

What is an e-bill?
e-bills are electronic versions of your paper bills that you can receive through your Salem Five Online Banking service. An e-bill comes directly from the biller to your Online Banking account. In addition, a notification that you have received an e-bill in your Online Banking account can be sent automatically to an email address you that choose. You can view balances, transactions, finance charges and other statement information in an e-bill.

How do I begin receiving e-bills?
To begin receiving e-bills, you will need to click the "Set up e-bill" link on the Make Payments and/or the My Payees page.

What types of payment options are available with e-bills?
There are three types of payment options:
- Automatic Payment: This can be setup to go out every time you receive your bill, without requiring you to approve the payment each time. You can select to pay the full amount billed, pay the minimum amount due on the bill, or pay a fixed amount each month regardless of what amount is billed.
- Recurring Payment: This is established for a fixed amount without receiving a bill.
- Manual Payment: The manual payment is the default payment if automatic and recurring are not selected for each payee. For these types of payments, an email alert (notification) is sent every time a bill is received, indicating that you will need to review the bill and issue payment.
-
What is the e-bill format for viewing?
The e-bill may appear as a .pdf or HTML file, depending on how the bill is created by the biller. For HTML files, you can click on the View bill in new window link to present the bill in a separate window for easier printing or saving of the HTML file.

How long will my e-bills be saved for that has been filed?
